First Run of the Season!

Finally...snow!  Were we ever happy to wake up to snow on Saturday, this mama's birthday!  Here are some pictures of her first run down the hill next to our house. 

She was just giddy with delight.  

And...in case you were wondering and didn't see the posts from last winter, this sled was made by Cadie's Auntie Kelly.  Yes, that's a pink princess chair bolted to a sled!  Pure genius in the eyes of this 2 year old and her parents!

We had a little break in the cold weather here on Saturday, so we took the opportunity to get some time in on the slides.  We were grateful for the sunshine and some mommy-daughter time while daddy took care of cleaning up around the house!

Taking the Christmas decorations down and putting the house back together after the holidays is always bittersweet.  The special times with family and friends are slowing down, the magic and spirit of Christmas is fading a little, and its time to get back to the daily grind.  But this year we are actually looking forward to the day to day routine with Cadie.  She makes the ordinary, extraordinary; the tedious, funny; and the boring, exciting.  She has truly been the light in our lives this past year!
