Acadia's Big Adventure Vol. 1 {Saturday}

Cadie's 2nd ballon bracelet this summer!  There was a great balloon artist at the Winter Harbor Lobster Festival this year and he made Cadie this adorable little balloon flower.  She loved it!
The incredible shrinking kid?  No, it's just a huge oversized camping chair at the festival.  Provided a good photo-op!

Man on stilts at the parade!

Needs no explanation!

We loved these little lobster boats!

So, this is Cadie's first summer vacation ever! And her first trip to Maine to visit her grandparents summer home and the place that we named her after-- Acadia National Park.  We left Pennsylvania early Friday morning and arrived in Winter Harbor at 8:00 pm.  13 1/2 hours door to door.  We made 5 stops total, we watched 2 movies, took 3 cat naps, read several books, and sang a lot of silly songs.  It was not a bad day in the car with a 2 year old.  We were expecting a lot worse, but we couldn't have asked for a better trip.  Today was the 47th Annual Winter Harbor Lobster Festival.  We spent a couple hours down there, then walked back to the house for lunch and to play in the pool.  The annual parade was at 5pm, so back into town we trekked, watched the parade and back home again for dinner and a short playtime at the park across the street.  Did some say nap?  To quote Cadie, "No Way!" Who has time for a nap on vacation! Stay tuned for tomorrow's post.  I'm hoping to blog every night this week, as sort of a memory book of Cadie's first family summer vacation.  Enjoy!
